Young Midfielder Charlie Howard is a graduate of Gillingham's Centre of Excellence. He was awarded a two-year professional contract in November 2007 after impressing Mark Stimson in his debut for the Gills in the 4-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat of Dagenham & Redbridge.
Charlie made his full League debut on Easter Monday 2008 in the away defeat at Port Vale and ended the 2007/08 season by collecting Gillingham's Young Player of the Year Award.
