KRBS Priestfield Stadium became a giant TV set today as a film crew from Sky Sports took over the stadium to film sequences for their 2008/09 Football League coverage.

Priestfield will play a starring role in the opening titles for Sky's new season Football League shows and Producer Nick Canham explained the concept behind today's shoot.

"The idea of the sequence is to give a snap shot of the football leagues through the ages from the 1950s/1960s/1970s through to the 1980s/1990s/2000s."

Gills staff were surprised to see players on the pitch in baggy 1950's style shorts whilst supporters in the stands waved wooden rattles.

The finished title sequence will be featured each week at the start of Sky's football league shows.  Gills fans will have to wait until August to see the end result.
