On-loan Gillingham striker Chris Dickson is loving his time at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium and admits "that" goal against Crewe Alexandra was special.

Dickson has scored ten goals for the Gills in the two and a half months he has been at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium and the striker admitted he is enjoying his time at the club: "It is all going very good.  I am happy that the team has got that first away win now and for me personally, the more goals I score, the more confident I get.  It is all a bit of a whirlwind at the moment.  I knew once the first goal came, the goals would start coming.  One you get that first one, you just keep on rolling.  That happened for me at Dulwich Hamlet, it happened for me in Charlton Reserves and it is happening for me at
Gillingham.  I just need to keep it going.

"I don't know what happened when I was on-loan at
Crewe.  For some strange reason, it just didn't work out up there.  When people ask me about what it what like at Crewe, I say that the people made me feel very welcome and barring the football, everything was okay.  For footballing reasons, it didn't work out.  I've then come down to Gillingham and it's been a great vibe with the Gills and I've been banging in the goals."

The loan agreement for Dickson expires on Friday 21st December and Dickson will explore his options with regards to his future when he returns to the Valley: "I'll see what happens when the time comes and see what options I have.  I've really enjoyed my time here at
Gillingham and I will enjoy my time over the next three games; hopefully I'll keep on scoring goals.  I signed for Charlton and that is where I would like to lay down my final foundations but I will not be leaving Gillingham without making a mark."

Since Manager Mark Stimson arrived at Priestfield, Dickson has played with a strike partner, as a lone striker with two wingers and as a lone striker with a player just behind him and Dickson admits that the Gills Manager is improving his game: "The new Gaffer is something else.  Mark Stimson reminds me a lot of my old manager at Dulwich.  He is very confident, he comes in with his own plans and knows exactly what he wants to do; it is his way or the highway.  He is installing confidence, we are winning games and we are turning it around.  A couple more points and we'd be just outside the play-offs.  It is all down to the Gaffer.

"It definitely helps my game to learn different styles.  All credit to Mark Stimson for that.  One thing that Alan Pardew said to me this season was that he wants me to learn different aspects of the game.  He wants me to learn more about holding up the ball and to learn more about the uglier side of the game.  I am doing that and playing with different players around me, I am learning and it is improving my game, it is making me stronger and it is helping me score goals.  "

The Gills picked up their first away win of the season at Crewe on Tuesday and Dickson's winning goal, which has been compared to Marco Van Basten's for the Netherlands against the Soviet Union in Euro 88, is his favourite that he has scored for Gillingham: "That goal was a bit special.  To be fair, out of the ten goals I have scored for the Gills, that is the best one.  The goal against Bristol Rovers was special because of the timing of it but the winner against
Crewe tops it.  The defender had been kicking me all game so I thought that I have got to turn him, I did and then just aimed for the top corner, fortunately it went in.  The boys were trying to wind me up by saying it was a cross but they all know that when I get into the box, I don't pass the ball!"

When Dickson scores, he has been celebrating to the fans by waving his hand in front of his face and the striker explains where the celebration comes from: "When I was in non-league football, there were a couple of the kids who watched WWE wrestling and the WWE Champion, John Cena, used to do that celebration and say "You can't see me" to the fans.  The young lads started doing it to everyone when they scored goals and I saw it and said to them that I would take it into league football.  Every time the fans see it, they'll know I am doing it to them.  That is the reason I do it, "You can't see me" to the kids."

When Dickson scored his goals at
Crewe, the fans were singing about him to the tune of Ottawan's 1980 hit song D.I.S.C.O. and the striker admits the song means a lot to him: "That is a massive chant.  As soon as I heard it, I thought "Oh my God, the fans have caught on".  D.I.C.K.O. - let's keep it going.  I like "There is only one Chris Dickson" but D.I.C.K.O. is definitely the one."
