After seeing his side ease to a 2-0 victory over Thurrock, Mark Stimson was in positive mood, "It was a good display. I sent a strong line-up to Thurrock as we wanted to finish pre-season on a positive. Results don't always count for a lot but if you can finish with a good performance, and combine it with a good result, then, what a way to finish pre-season. We did that at Thurrock and I was pleased with the attitude and the performance."

"I am pleased that pre-season is over and importantly we haven't picked up any more injuries. It was good to see Gary Mulligan and Nicky Southall both back and they played and came through it with no problems."

Stimson was also pleased to see Mark McCammon make his Gills debut, "Mark McCammon did well and he looked a handful. With the injury he had, if you play for 45 minutes then sit down for 15 minutes in the changing room, it's hard to get going again. That can be when the injury re-occurs. I am pleased with his performance. He showed what he has got, which is something we lacked last year, and hopefully we'll see a lot more of that."

"If he gets through training next week, there is no reason why he shouldn't start at Bournemouth. Sometimes you don't know what is going to happen. Dennis Oli rang me on Saturday morning and he was feeling unwell so he couldn't come to the game. Fingers crossed, Mark is available for Saturday and if he is, he will be starting."
