Gills Manager Mark Stimson admits that holidays are holding up his efforts to bring fresh faces to the club.

The Gills gaffer had hoped to snap up a League One striker this week but revealed, "We thought we might have had an answer from the player before he went away on holiday but he's decided to take his time and think about it which means we have to play the waiting game."

Stimson is having similar problems in his pursuit of Kevin Maher "Unfortunately this is the time of year when players and agents take their holidays. Kevin is away on holiday and until he comes back we'll be none the wiser about his future."

Stimson is anxious to get on with his summer transfer plans and has this message for the Gills faithful " As soon as anything does happen the fans will be the first to know. The supporters are so important to this football club,  I'm looking to bring them some good news and I hope it will be sooner rather than later"
