We bring you all the team news ahead of Bank Holiday Monday's Coca-Cola League One match between Port Vale and Gillingham at Vale Park.

RECENT FORM

 

Mark Stimson's Gills are currently 21st in League One and go into the match off a 2-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday.  From their 19 away League One games this season, the Gills have won two, drawn two and lost fifteen whilst scoring 14 goals and conceding 45.

 

Lee Sinnott's Port Vale, who are currently bottom of the league table, come into the match off a 2-0 loss to Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Thursday.  From their 19 home games in the league, they have won three, drawn six and lost ten and have scored 20 goals and conceded 31.

LAST MATCH

 

The two sides have already met in League One this season when the Valiants beat the Gills 2-1 at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday 8th December.  Chris Dickson opened the scoring for the home side, Callum Willock levelled two minutes later and the Valiants took the points after an unfortunate own goal from Simon King.

Gills Manager Mark Stimson will have to do without Danny Cullip for the trip to Burslem.

Centre-half Cullip missed over two weeks with a hamstring injury and played on Saturday but Stimson belies another game in such a short space of time is too great a risk.

 

Goalkeeper Simon Royce is unlikely to travel after injuring an ankle in training last week.  Derek Stillie will keep his place in goal and youngster Chris Kiely will be on the bench.

 

Striker Andy Pugh has returned to the club after a month's loan at Maidstone United.

 

Midfielder Kevin Maher serves the second match of a three-match suspension for his red card for Serious Foul Play against Crewe Alexandra.

 

Centre-half Efe Sodje is into the second month of a loan spell at Coca-Cola League Two side Bury and is in the Shakers squad for their match against Mansfield Town at Gigg Lane.

 

Midfielders Stuart Thurgood and Barry Cogan are currently on a month's loan at Blue Square Premier side Grays Athletic and are included in the Blues team for their match at Histon.

Valiants Manager Lee Sinnott could welcome Adam Eckersley back into the squad for the visit of the Gills.

 

Defender Eckersley has returned to training after an ankle injury and played 72 minutes for the reserves last week.

 

Defender Keith Lowe is a doubt with a bruised knee bone whilst defender Colin Miles is sidelined with a medial ligament injury.

 

Midfielder Shane Tudor is ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
